Antique Hand Painted Silver Portrait & Marcasite Brooch Pendant

Beautiful antique brooch. Hand painted portrait under glass
of a lady in a white shawl. The brooch is surrounded by

 marcasite stones. The bail is also set with marcasites.

There are no missing stones. It measures approx. 4cms in 

diameter with a depth of 5mms. It weighs 5.50gms. 

The bail tucks away when being worn as a brooch.

The locking trombone clasp dates this brooch from

1890-1940. Unmarked which is not unusual for

early silver brooches. Tests as silver. It is in good

condition, there is however dust under the glass.
Pin and trombone clasp are working well.

A wonderful piece of antique keepsake jewellery.
