This one piece, self-watering, square plastic pot can help you grow luxuriant African Violets. A Swift’s Moist Rite Planter can take care of the watering chore for two weeks or longer depending on the size of the plant. The walls of this white planter are hollow and will hold over 15 fl. oz. There are tiny outlet holes at the base of the inner pot that allow the water to slowly seep from the reservoir walls into the soil chamber gently watering your plant from the bottom. The second photo shows a straight pin inserted into one of the four tiny outlet holes. The planter holds 1 2/3 cups of potting mix.

Swift’s Moist Rite Planters work on the principle of a partial vacuum. A rubber plug fits into an opening in the upper corner of the planter. This plug establishes and maintains the partial vacuum so it is important to snug the plug into the opening securely after you fill the walls with water.

Included with this planter are detailed instructions for planting and a 1/3 quart bag of Violet Showcase Potting Medium. It works very well with these planters. Also included is sufficient sand to be placed in the very bottom of the soil chamber before adding the soil and your plant.
