About the Alvarez Masterworks Series

Making a guitar from all-solid wood delivers strong tonal benefits, and Alvarez approaches the design of Masterworks to embrace all of them. Top thickness, brace weight and tapering, back design and wood choice all count, and when each is considered as a part of the sum total of the instrument's voice, great articulation and quality of tone is achieved.

Alvarez's FS6 bracing system is a forward-shifted, scalloped X allowing for a slightly larger soundboard area around the bridge. This helps generate more vibration, which is heightened by AAA soundboards and premium components throughout, culminating in powerful voicing, inspiring articulation and instant response.

Masterworks acoustic-electric models are fitted with the LR Baggs HiFi system. HiFi is a premium, non-invasive design that pairs dual bridge plate sensors with high-fidelity electronics, providing exceptional balance, definition and dynamics. Due to the closed sensor design, HiFi also has excellent feedback resistance and its built-in, studio-quality preamp is voiced to compliment the pickups for an optimal plug-and-play experience.

All Masterworks ship with Alvarez's durable AFC30 Flexicase.

Alvarez's Approach to the Build

All of Alvarez's solid tops are selected by their team and graded independently of Alvarez's suppliers. If it isn't worthy, it isn't used. Alvarez's laminated backs and sides are uniquely constructed with Mahogany as their middle layer, and Alvarez's inner and outer layers are always matched.

Artist Elite guitars strike the right balance between strength and vibration, crafting a voice to both inspire and give players "tools in the tone." Alongside this approach to development lies Alvarez's respect for sourcing, preparation and nurturing the wood they use to make they guitars. No matter how considered design may be, it can only be as good as the wood Alvarez uses to realize them.

Alvarez's all-solid wood tops, backs and sides, as well as the mahogany used for their necks, go through a curing process developed over years to create stability, strength and tonal benefits. Depending on the wood and its use, this process takes many months or even years for some of Alvarez's models.

After months-long seasoning, Alvarez performs an extra drying stage in thermo-kilns to further enhance wood stability and improve resonance. Alvarez calls this process ATR—Advanced Tonal Response. ATR™ is a form of torrefaction—oxygen controlled, vacuum curing at special temperatures to remove more moisture and volatiles such as saps and sugars from the wood.

Tubes:

Bananas does not warranty tubes in transit. We offer tube removal and individual bubble wrap service for $45 per customer request (for standard amps, more complex amps that take more time may be a higher fee). Customers buying any tube product and having it shipped should understand and realize that Bananas cannot be responsible for damaged tubes from transit. This applies to all new and used products. Certain manufactures offer a tube warranty on their new products as a courtesy, and that is available thru the manufacturer warranty process for all new products where it applies.

The following items may not be returned:

Consumable items such as (but not limited to) strings, picks, drum sticks, drum heads, phono cartridges and replacement speakers.
Any item that is worn on the body or is blown into, such as (but not limited to) earplugs, wind controllers or harmonicas
Computer software, items that can be copied and copyrighted material such as (but not limited to) books, videos and CD's
Installed items such as (but not limited to) guitar pickups, drum heads, headphone parts and other installed parts
If you agree to back order or special order a product, you agree that order may not be canceled unless approved by Bananas. Special orders already in transit either from the manufacturer or Bananas cannot be canceled. Special order items may be returned if defective for exchange. You will be notified what items qualify as special order status.

An Item is considered new if it has not been sold previously, has not been out of the store on loan, shows no signs of wear and tear. We open and inspect almost every instrument that comes through our doors. Often original packaging may not be reused. Just because an item is not shipped in original packaging does not mean it is used. If you are concerned and only want sealed units, please contact us before buying.

Other Things You Need to Know about Returns:

Shipping and/or handling charges are not refundable. It is your responsibility to pay return shipping and to fully insure the unit(s) you are returning. Also, it is your responsibility to cover shipping charges for sending the item to you. If you are quoted free shipping and return the item, you will be required to cover the actual shipping costs incurred by your order. Items that are returned must be in the original packaging, with all accessories and paperwork included in the original shipment, such as owner's manual(s) and warranty card. Items must be free from signs of use or wear, and both warranty card and manual(s) must not have any writing in them. If your order was shipped to you in outer packaging it must be returned in that packaging as well as the inner box or boxes. Returned items that do not arrive in the condition described above are subject to a $25 repackaging charge, plus the cost of replacing missing, soiled, worn or marked-on items. Obvious signs of use that reduce the value of a returned unit will be subject to additional charges based on how much we need to mark down the unit to make it sellable.

About Shipping and Delivery:

We utilize legitimate bonded and licensed shipping carriers only (UPS, Fed Ex, USPS etc). We are not the shipping company and therefore cannot be held responsible for faults that lay with the shipping company. By placing orders with us you agree to be present to receive packages sent to you. Bananas cannot be held responsible for lost packages once they are logged as delivered by the shipping company. Once a package is logged as delivered by the shipping company the customer is responsible for any issues related to the delivery of the package at that point.

How Refunds are Processed:

Charges made to a credit card will be refunded, less freight, handling and any reconditioning charges, to the same credit card. Payments made by check will be refunded with a check, after sufficient time has passed for your original check to completely clear through the banking system.

Note: All returns and refunds are at the discretion of Bananas at Large management. Damaged, obviously used items or abuse of the return privileges may be grounds for a refusal of refunds or returns. We will not facilitate free rentals via our return policy.

Due to conditions beyond our control (weather, shipper's handling etc.) some boxes that products originally come in cannot be re-used to ship out to customers. In those rare cases we will remove and inspect all items and repackage them in acceptable boxing to make it safe to you.
