This specimen is a Dalmanitid trilobite - (cf. Ormathops/Sokhretia) from the Upper Ordovician Kataoua Formation near Kaid Errami, Morocco. This specimen is exquisitely preserved in a vibrant orange limonite, a result of the natural oxidation of iron pyrite that originally replaced the exoskeleton. This creates a striking visual contrast against the muted, earthy matrix. This specimen represents a high-quality example of the "orange bugs" that have become iconic among collectors of Moroccan Ordovician fauna.
