Scalextric C4251 is a highly detailed 1:32 scale slot car celebrating one of the most memorable victories in Formula One history. Finished in the iconic yellow Camel-inspired Team Lotus livery and carrying race number 12, this model recreates the Lotus 99T driven by Ayrton Senna to victory at the 1987 Monaco Grand Prix. It is a superb addition for Formula One enthusiasts, Senna collectors and fans of classic Grand Prix racing.
The real Lotus 99T was introduced for the 1987 Formula One World Championship and was the first Lotus to use Honda power. Designed by Gérard Ducarouge, it featured an innovative active suspension system that allowed the car to maintain optimum ride height throughout a race. At the Monaco Grand Prix, Senna capitalised on Nigel Mansell's retirement to claim his first victory around the famous Monte Carlo street circuit. The win was significant not only because it marked the first of Senna's six Monaco victories, but also because it was the first Formula One win for a car equipped with active suspension.
Scalextric C4251 faithfully captures the elegant lines of the Lotus 99T, from its low-slung nose and sculpted sidepods to the authentic race livery and detailed cockpit. Whether displayed alongside other legendary Formula One cars or raced on an analogue circuit, this model is a fitting tribute to one of Ayrton Senna's greatest drives and one of Lotus's most innovative Grand Prix machines.
