This is a Very Good Copy of this Book in blue and mauve patterened boards with red leather title label lettered in gilt to spine,in a Very Good Dust-Jacket that has some tape strengthening applied to the top and bottom edge of the spine on the underside of the wrapper.Modest rubbing to the outer edges of the dust-wrapper also.There is one previous owner's name to the top edge of the front flap of the wrapper and one inscription on the verso of the blank front endpaper.Illustrated with 3 coloured and numerous b&w drawings by Nell Booker,Introduction is by May Lamberton Becker.The book has a firm binding with no hinge weakness,no spine leaning.Top edge of the book is sprayed red as issued.Slight age toning to the text block edges.Uncommon edition especially in dust-jacket of this enduring classic tale by Charlotte Bronte.This copy was acquired from a large and substantial collection of impressive titles relating to the works and history of this famous literary family.This would make a great addition to any serious Bronte collection of works,8vo 504pp First Edition Thus [1946]
