How it works
Clean and dry the damaged area.
Slide Subpatch Backing Paper under the tear to bridge the gap.
Bond edges with Leather Adhesive; allow to set.
Apply thin layers of Leather Filler until level, allowing each layer to dry to the touch before applying the next.
Lightly sand with 600-grit sandpaper 24 hours after the final layer has dried.
Apply our Leather Dye Colorant to seal and finish the repair.
Dry times vary by layer thickness and environment. Apply in thin coats for best results.
Yes. After structural repair, recolor the area to blend the filler with surrounding leather/vinyl. We offer OEM automotive interior colors and common furniture shades. If you're looking for the best match possible, consider our Color Matching service.
How big of a tear can this fix?
Typical use covers small punctures and tears up to ~3–4". For longer tears, we offer an 8.5"x11" piece of subpatch. However, tears longer than 6" may be unrepairable.
Can I repair a seam split?
Seam failures typically require re-stitching. Adhesives/fillers are not a permanent fix for open seams; consult an upholstery professional.
Is this flexible after curing?
Yes — when applied in thin layers and fully cured, the repair remains flexible. Avoid heavy flexing until fully cured.
What if my leather is only cracked?
Consider our Leather Filler instead. The Leather Filler fills and smooths rough areas, surface cracks, and deeper cracks - making it very versatile.
