Made in England! A classical guitar made in 1974 has arrived!
Harold Petersen (1910-1969)
Born in Denmark.
He primarily made classical guitars, but also jazz guitars and other string instruments. He moved to England in 1950.
From around 1955, he successfully sold his guitars at the Spanish Guitar Centre, run by Len Williams (father of famous classical guitarist John Williams) in London.
He produced three Hauser-style models: A, B, and C, with the C model being the highest-end model featuring an intricate rosette.
After Harold Petersen's death, his sons Tom and Peter took over the workshop.
(Except for the first guitar, which they signed on their father's label after his death.)
During their time, they changed the label from "Harold Petersen" to "Petersen" and continued producing guitars until 1983.
Paul McCartney is known to have played and recorded with Petersen classical guitars.
