Description
The SURFBREAKER 2 returns to the roots of red pine guitars.
The Akamatsu Guitar Project is committed to utilizing red pine trees that have been forced to be cut down due to pine beetle infestation.
This model returns to its roots and is based on the first red pine guitar, the SURFBREAKER.
While faithfully retaining the original design elements, such as the large knots on the front of the body and the unique German curve around the periphery, it has been updated with subtle features for today's players.
Equipped with Bacchus STP-1 Pickups
The guitar is equipped with two original Bacchus STP-1 soapbar pickups.
These pickups deliver a wide range of tones, from the warm, thick tone characteristic of P-90s to a crisp, chunky sound.
The aged chrome pickup covers add to the unique and striking look that is characteristic of the SURFBREAKER.
Newly Adopted Floating Tremolo
The original SURFBREAKER featured a TL-type bridge with distinctive 3-way saddles, but this model now features a floating tremolo.
The Akamatsu body, known for its light and crisp sound, is enhanced with the expressive power of arm movements, making it suitable for a wider range of playing styles.
Aged Finish
Like the original SURFBREAKER, the body paint and metal parts have been aged.
The design skillfully blends the unique characteristics of Akamatsu wood, such as knots and stains, into a vintage-like yet unique appearance.
This offset-style model is a Bacchus masterpiece, combining the quality you'd expect from Japanese handcraftsmanship with the sustainable concept of the Akamatsu Guitar Project.
