momose MC1 M
Description
About the Momose Original Series MC
The Momose Original Series MC is an original model that inherits the traditional ST style while being refined with Momose's unique touches. Craftsmen at the Asuka factory meticulously handcraft each and every instrument, from woodworking to painting and assembly.
The high playability resulting from this meticulous craftsmanship has been highly praised by many top players, making this a model that embodies the Momose brand's undeniable quality.
The MC1 M features an alder body and maple fingerboard.
Soft V-Shaped Grip
The MC1 M features a soft V-shaped neck grip that is easy to grip, following the vintage style. In addition, the satin finish on the neck allows for smooth, stress-free position changes.
Horn Shape for Enhanced Playability in the High Positions
Compared to traditional ST models, the MC model features a larger recess in the horn section on the treble string side. This not only improves playability in the higher positions, but also allows players with larger hands to effortlessly reach the higher frets.
Recessed Joint Plate
While adopting the traditional plate joint method to preserve the traditional sound characteristics, the joint plate is recessed into the body. This achieves both a traditional sound and excellent playability.
Wood Binding to Prevent Fingerboard Problems
The sides of the fingerboard are bound with wood from the same material as the fingerboard. This not only makes the sides of the fingerboard extremely smooth to the touch, but also helps prevent problems such as fret burrs popping out due to drying.
Wide Rod Adjust Holes
The uniquely shaped headstock features wide adjustment holes for smooth neck adjustment. The hole shape has also been carefully designed to make adjustments easier.
New Features with the Renewal
Awake Pickup
In conjunction with the 2026 Momose product renewal, the newly developed Awake pickup is now included.
The front and center positions feature Alnico 4 magnets, which produce a sweet high range and natural tone. Meanwhile, the rear position, which tends to have a thin sound, employs an Alnico 5 magnet for a powerful, edgy sound.
While keeping in mind the sonic characteristics desired for each position, the balance was carefully adjusted to achieve a unified overall sound. As its name suggests, these pickups are designed to awaken the player's expressiveness and creativity.
Centralab Oil Capacitors
In conjunction with the development of the new pickups, we also reviewed the tone circuit capacitors.
From among many options, we chose Centralab oil capacitors, focusing on their compatibility with the Awake pickups. Their excellent response responds accurately to the player's nuances and their brightness brings the sound forward, making them an important element in shaping the new Momose tone.
Luminlay Side Dots
All models feature Luminlay, a luminous material that stores light and glows in the dark, as side position marks.
This specification is highly popular among professional musicians, as it ensures visibility even in darkened or dimly lit venues like live music venues and concert halls. It also reduces the risk of losing track of your instrument in dark environments.
Puretone Jack
All models feature the Puretone jack, renowned for its secure grip and low noise.
Conventional jacks have one hot and one cold contact, but the Puretone jack has two contacts each, for a total of four, firmly holding the plug on both sides. This prevents loosening even after extended use, providing stable contact and performance to support your performance.
Fingerboard Radius for Versatile Playing
The MC model features a 310-radius fingerboard, which is slightly flatter than vintage-style fingerboards. This makes it easier to set the string height lower than before, facilitating technical playing that requires fast fingering.
