Nikon AF-S Nikkor 300mm f/2.8G IF-ED VR Lens

Recently serviced by Edinburgh based repair specialists Cameratiks. When I bought the lens, the AF was intermittent in operation. After service, Cameratiks returned the AF operation to at least 95% operational. Like so many of the big, fast telephoto lenses from Nikon, it is quite noisy in operation - see attached video.

I mainly use this lens for football and rugby photos which it produces great results - even when cropped quite severely. See attached photos.

On the odd occassion on arrival at a match, I have found I need to twist the focus ring manually to get the AF to spring into life. After that, the AF works as it should for the rest of the afternoon.

Optics are clear with no fungus or other issues.

VR works fine.
