Finished in the correct Consolidated Rail Corporation (Conrail) dark gray paint scheme with yellow safety striping, this model features crisp factory lettering, the Conrail logo, and the distinctive “Safety Equipped” lightning bolt emblem. The locomotive remains factory sealed in its original plastic sleeve and secured in the original foam insert, with no signs of use or handling.

This locomotive was produced as a Conrail employee distribution / internal issue, rather than a standard hobby shop retail release. These Conrail-branded employee items were issued through internal or special channels and are significantly less common than typical retail roadname locomotives—especially in new-in-box condition with complete original packaging.

The unit is a non-powered (dummy) diesel, designed to be paired with a powered ALCO locomotive or used to add realism and length to a Conrail consist. It is compatible with O / O-27 three-rail layouts and also makes an excellent display piece for Conrail collectors and railroad memorabilia enthusiasts.
