Beautiful piece of scorched manzanita wood. Please see the photos for the  approximate size and shape. Each piece was leagally harvested from a burn scar located on the east slopes of the Cascade mountain range from an approximate elevation of 4500 ft. They have been trimmed up, sanded on some of the rougher edges and tips, cleaned with pressuized water to remove any loose debris and expose some of the natural color underneath the scorched surface of the piece..These have not been "sanitized" in any way "boiled/baked", so be sure to perform your own inspection/cleaning before placing in an aquarium.

And just so you know, Manzanita wood is a popular choice for aquariums, terrariums, and reptile enclosures due to its unique aesthetic appeal and functional benefits. This naturally driftwood-like material features intricate, twisting branches and a rich, reddish-brown hue that adds an earthy, organic touch to any habitat.

In aquariums, Manzanita wood not only serves as a striking focal point but also provides essential hiding spots and climbing structures for fish and aquatic creatures. Its dense structure makes it resistant to waterlogging, ensuring longevity in underwater environments. Moreover, it can contribute to water quality by releasing beneficial tannins, which can create a more natural habitat for certain species.

For terrariums and reptile enclosures, Manzanita wood is ideal for creating diverse landscapes and vertical spaces that encourage natural behaviors such as climbing and basking. Its smooth texture is safe for reptiles, reducing the risk of injury, while its natural appearance blends seamlessly with various substrate materials and plants.

Additionally, Manzanita wood is lightweight, making it easy to manipulate and arrange within your setup. Whether used as a decorative element or a functional component, Manzanita wood enhances the overall aesthetic and ecological balance of any aquarium or terrarium, making it a favorite among hobbyists and professionals alike.
