1. Throttle body installation:
(1) Clean the installation face of the intake manifold, install the throttle body assemblyto the intake manifold interface, and tighten the screws??
(2) Install water pipes and other hoses??
(3) Plug in the wiring plug of the throttle body??
(4) Connect the air intake hose and tighten the locking ring.
2. Matched
- High idle or unsteady idle will generally occur after the throttle body is replaced, or an engine failure light;
- This is because the car ECU stores the original throttle body parameters, and the newly installed throttle bpdy parameters are inconsistent withthe original;
- At this point, the throttle body needs to be matched by computer. The matching process is to erase the original memory of THE ECU and start the self-learning process again.
After installation, a dedicated
computer must be used to
connect the CAR ECU to
clear the fault code and
restore the initial state.
Note:
1. Ensure that the cable plug
of the throttle body is inserted;
2. The fault code is cleared;
3. Appropriate tightness of
throttle cable. (mechanical
and semi- electronic);
Remind:Install by trained
professionals.
- In cases where there is no matching computer or the computer cannot match, the following manual method can be used to match.
- Method 1: The negative electrode of battery line can be disconnected to eliminate the memory function of ECU, and it can be installed after 1 minute.
- Method 2:Turn off the ignition switch and remove the EFI and ETCS fuses in the fuse box in the engine compartment.
The above two methods are to eliminate the memory of THE ECU. If the idle speed is still high at this time, the ECU can return to normal speed through 1 to 2 days of self-learning.
3. Common throttle body faults and causes
(1) Throttle body cannot open: accelerator pedal position sensor, throttle body motor, ECU,
Power supply and circuit, throttle body internal stuck;
(2) Insufficient throttle body opening: throttle body stuck, accelerator pedal position sensor, throttle body position sensor, safety mode;
(3) Idle low or high: throttle body stuck, excessive carbon accumulation in throttle body and inlet, leakage in intake pipe and various valve connections, initialization or idle learning not set;
4. Quality problems and phenomena of throttle body itself
(1) Incorrect intake volume of throttle body:
- (Electronic and semi-electronic) throttle body Butterfly valve stuck;
- ?Judgment method: Pull the Butterfly valve to fully open and fully closed by hand and then slowly put it back to check whether the throttle valve piece returns to the correct initial position smoothly;
- Excessive carbon accumulation in inlet.

- The built-in circuit is broken or short-circuited.
5.Impact of other related accessories
In addition to the product quality problems of the throttle body itself, the failure of other related accessories will also affect the normal use or failure of the throttle body.
