S.Yairi 1976 YD-304

Description

This is a pre-owned 1976 S.Yairi YD-304, a Made in Japan S.Yairi dreadnought model from the 1970s folk song era.

The dreadnought-shaped body is made of solid spruce, with Jacaranda plywood back and sides and a three-piece Jacaranda maple back. It has an ebony fingerboard, a mahogany neck with an SQ neck configuration without a truss rod, and Schaller tuning machines.

The exterior shows signs of use, including scratches, scuffs, and dents. A top coat has been applied to the body top to cover any scratches, and the pickguard has been sealed into the paint, showing some slight cloudiness.

The neck is in excellent condition, nearly straight, with the string height at the 12th fret approximately 2.7mm on the 6th string side and approximately 2.5mm on the 1st string side. 80% of the frets are still in place, with no buzzing or choking, and there are no issues with playability.

Despite being a plywood model, this guitar has been well-tuned and features the powerful, powerful sound characteristic of a dreadnought body.
