450 Kodachrome Slides Norman Rothschild Popular Photography w/ Art Experimental

Collection Pro Kodachrome Slides Best of Norman Rothschild Popular Photography

** Some of Norman's work has some very low result art net records, ranging from 50 to 200 for his experimental work.

** Signs of Age on everything but overall excellent.  They were kept neatly in kodachrome boxes in a climate controlled storage setting for 40 years.

Items in this lot include the following:

- 250 Kodachrome Slides from the 1960s to the 1980s of Buildings of the world, Scenic Landscapes, Unique Windows from all types of houses, people doing things, and color filtered houses in the United States. as well as people and such in Asia, New York City, Mexico and South America, and various other places.  These people are typically doing their work routines, or are in a particular place or doing a particular chore that looks very photogenic and Norman Rothschild took them in their element.  These photos should not be confused with amateur photography, when you view these you can tell the photographer knew how to capture the subject professionally.

Like i described in the last set, these landscape photos are masterfully choreographed by Norman Rothschild, usually paired with an interesting landscape object that is placed masterfully in the photo.  Norman was highly trained and these photos were all photos that he truly loved, he didn't keep any photos that were not perfect.

- 46 of the Slides in this collection are signed "Norman Rothschild".  Another 69 slides are stamped "Norman Rothschild".

- 14 of the Slides are color module slides.

- 128 Slides are Norman's experimental photography that he became somewhat known for.  Some of these experimental slides are done with Spiratone but the majority seem to be done with filters.

- An assortment of personal photographs, a Signed Photograph with a quote "An artist may try to quit art, but art will never quit the artist!"

- 28 postcard doodles that are initialed NR

** Norman Rothschild was born in 1913 and died in 1995.  He worked as a senior editor and photographer for the vintage magazine Popular photography for most of his adult life until he retired.  I kept all relevant Kodachrome slides except for the photos of Jeanne Dixon, whom was his lifetime friend and also the wife of famed Jazz Legend Bill Dixon.  There are a couple of photos of him in this lot.  Many of the photos are very unique shots, however there may be doubles, triples, and even quadruples of many of them.  I included the photo albums, maybe you can use them to pinpoint the regions of the world these photos are from.  I also included some of Norman's doodles and sketches on index cards to Jeanne Dixon.  Norman Rothschild style is clearly apparent.  You can google information about him, one article i read said he would be an intense customer when buying a new camera or related piece of equipment.  He was also a pioneer of art photography and his works sell for low amounts of money in auction house settings.  He was famous for experimental photos with filters.
