Slag is a glass-like by-product of separating metals from ore.  Most slag does NOT fluoresce, but this one sure does!  Shows brightest under shortwave UV (first 3 photos), but as you can see, the midwave (next two) and longwave response (last 2 UV photos) are almost indistinguishable from the shortwave response.  Even responds in BLACKLIGHT with a cheap UV flashlight!!!

This awesome specimen weighs 1.0 ounces (30 g), and measures approximately 2.00 inches X 1.50 inches X 0.25 inch (5.0 cm X 3.6 cm X 0.5 cm).

I have set the shipping as Ground Advantage Mail.  If you plan on bidding on MORE than one rock, let me know BEFORE you pay your invoice, so I may combine shipping to save you money.  I am happy to combine shipping on multiple items when possible.  If you wish to purchase multiple specimens and combine them in one shipment, click on "Add to Cart" for each item.  Then, go to your cart and click on "Request total from seller". I will determine the most cost-effective box size and adjust the shipping price to reflect your savings and send you an invoice for the lot.

NOTE: Typical Blacklight UV lights will not display any color.  Also, the intensity of the color will vary depending on the strength of the lamp you have.  For a good quality Shortwave lamp at a reasonable price, I suggest you consider the DRK lamp by Engenious Designs or the SuperBright III.  These manufacturers sell these lamps directly to you (and they are not related to me in any way, and I do not sell these lamps.)

If you are the successful bidder, please leave positive feedback.  It is much appreciated.  If you have any questions, please ask.
