Armageddon The Album hails from 2016 and is
a SEALED U.S. 180 gram 2LP set on colored vinyl from Audio Fidelity. What do the superstars - Aerosmith, ZZ Top,
Jon Bon Jovi, Bob Seger, Patty Smyth and Journey - all have in common? They all
appeared on the Armageddon original motion picture soundtrack to the 1998
blockbuster thriller film directed by Michael Bay. With the theme of the film
being the prospect of a giant meteor crashing into the earth, it's only fitting
that the soundtrack, one of the best in movie history, is packed with such
explosive hits and stars.
Much
of the success of the album was driven by the Aerosmith power ballad "I
Don't Want To Miss A Thing." The song, written by renowned pop songwriter
Diane Warren, debuted at No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 (the first #1 for
the band after 28 years together). Additional Aerosmith tracks include the
rockin' "What Kind of Love Are You On," their 1991 re-mix of
"Sweet Emotion" and their classic cover of the Beatles' "Come
Together."
Stellar
material like ZZ Top's "La Grange," Bob Seger's "Roll Me
Away," Bon Jovi's "Mister Big Time" and Journey's "Remember
Me" help round out the show.
