This antique Nippon hand-painted porcelain pitcher features a multicolored floral design with soft gradient background tones and detailed gold trim around the rim, handle, and base. The decoration includes stylized leaves and fruit in shades of yellow, green, red, and blue, applied in the traditional early Nippon aesthetic. The scalloped rim and ornate handle reflect the typical late-Meiji era production style.
The underside bears the green Maple Leaf Nippon backstamp along with “Hand Painted,” indicating manufacture between 1891 and 1921. The gold detailing shows light age-appropriate wear, and the body shows minimal surface marks consistent with display and storage. No chips, cracks, or repairs were observed on inspection.
This pitcher measures 6 1/8″ tall, 6″ long including the handle, and 4.5″ wide at the base. A well-preserved example suitable for collectors of antique Japanese porcelain or Nippon-era hand-painted wares.
