DESCRIPTION: This is a 8 ply heavy weight silk with a few tiny slubs which we call Heavy Fine Ribbed Silk. The width is 48”/120 cms. The colour is deep red with fine white ribbed effect. The weight of the silk is approximately 230 grams per linear metre. It has matt finish i.e. not too shiny. The fabric quality needs to be seen and on cutting and stitching the real difference can be seen. The cost of a silk fabric is determined by the weight, grade of yarn used, weave, and design.

USES: This fabric can be used for light/heavy upholstery has it has the strength to withstand a certain degree of abrasion. However, we have not flame proofed any of our silks though one of the characteristics of silk yarn is that it does not go into flames when lit.

CARE: We recommend dry cleaning.
