About 7 1/2" high x 7 1/2" x 9 1/2" across the handle.

DESCRIPTION

Rare unusual cup-form storage pot / crock.  Incised, thickened rim.  Fully glazed dark red interior, while the outer unglazed surface shows some coloration from years of domestic and fireplace use.  Likely Pennsylvania or New England origin.  Single applied strap handle.  Coiled clay lines plainly visible.  Probably found use in cooking beans, storing applesauce, etc.  

CONDITION

Overall excellent. No chips, dings or cracks (all visible in the images).  A RARE AND EARLY 18TH OR 19TH CENTURY GLAZED AMERICAN CROCK.
