Shipping to you

This listing does not include your shipping to me.

The process is simple.

0. You purchase the service.

1. I message you the address to ship it to.

2. You package it and ship it to the address.

3. I receive your console and install the capture board.

4. I ship it back out to you via USPS Ground Advantage.

⚠️‼️USE A BOX WITH PLENTY OF PADDING TO SHIP YOUR CONSOLE. DO NOT LET THE SHIPPING CARRIER PACK IT FOR YOU. DO NOT THINK IT CAN'T HAPPEN TO YOU. I HAVE RECEIVED BROKEN CONSOLES IN THE PAST AND THEY ARE ALWAYS DUE TO POOR PACKAGING.

Turnaround time varies.

What is it?

The capture card is an internal hardware add-on that reads the signals being sent to the console's screens, as well as digital audio. This means that anything that shows up on your console's screens will show up in the viewer.

Yellowing, dead/stuck pixels, and decay will not show up on the viewer. If you send me a console with any of these, so long as the console turns on, the capture card will still work. This also includes consoles with broken screens.

This capture card only works on Windows PCs.

USB-C or micro USB:

You have a choice of micro USB or USB C in the place of the original charge port.

For micro USB, no external cuts are made and can be reversed in the future. This also leaves it compatible with charging docks that use the side contacts.  This option is the best for editions with colors unique to them (NES Edition, Hot Pink).

For USB-C, the surrounding plastic is cut off and/or filed. A 3D printed cover is used to fill in the space. This is irreversible, but this part of the housing is easily replaceable if you wish to return it to normal in the future, especially if it is black or white.

USB PD is supported if you pick USB C. That means you can use C-to-C cables as well as USB-C-only chargers like those meant for laptops.

Keep in mind that the console will not charge any faster or transfer data faster regardless of whether it's micro USB or USB C.

F.A.Q.

"Does this work with [game/mode]?"

Yes. Anything that shows up on the screens will show up in the viewer.

"Can I combine this with the controller mod?"

Yes, but you should get the controller mod first, or have both installed at the same time.

"Is this a Loopy capture card?"

No. It is an Optimize.ath.cx capture card. If you would like to learn more, search for reviews on Katsukity capture cards, but ignore the parts about the faulty USB ports. Since I relocate and replace the USB ports with better ones, those are no longer of concern.

"Does the port also charge the console?"

Yes, and if you pick USB-C, USB PD is supported.

"Will this work on Mac or Linux?"

Yes. Use cc3dsfs. I recommend using this software over the original.

"Do you offer warranty?"

You can send your console to me at any time to fix the USB port if it breaks. If the issue is the capture board and it has been over 30 days since delivery, cover the cost of the board. In both cases, you cover the shipping cost.

Send me a message if you have other questions.

Disclaimers/Warnings:

1. Charge your console before capturing. If you get frequent blackouts and the battery is very low, this is usually why.

2. Performance is dependent on your PC, specifically your USB controller/handler. On most PCs, this isn't an issue, especially if built for streaming. This is usually a concern on cheaper laptops and tablets. For a smooth performance, you may have to limit the FPS to 30, reduce the color bandwidth, disable audio, unplug other USB devices, or a mix of the 4.

3. Audio may not be compatible with your PC or with your console. If the above solutions didn't help with audio cracks and pops, you may need to rely on grabbing audio via the headphone jack.
