Rare Vintage Turkish Yelek from Istanbul

This is an authentic vintage folk vest (Yelek) sourced from a boutique in Istanbul, Turkey (Butik Müge). This style was popular from the mid-20th century onwards & is sought after by collectors of global textiles, traditional folk art, and Bohemian fashion. 

• Made in Istanbul, Turkey (Tag: BUTIK MÜGE).

• Dark, heavy wool.

• Features dramatic, cream-colored appliqué and scrolling embroidery on the front pockets and across the back neckline.

• Traditional waistcoat cut with full satin-like lining.

• Finished with decorative blue glass beads on the front.

•  Likely 1960s-70s.

Excellent Vintage Condition.

• No rips or tears in the wool exterior.

• The internal lining is intact.

• The embroidery is clean and vibrant.
