Dynamic Radio Sweep (AM/FM) – Continuously moves through radio bands to create a steady stream of audio fragments.

Mode Overview

Switching modes is quick:

Standard Sweep – Runs through AM or FM frequencies at your chosen sweep speed.

Channel Hop – Moves only between strong, stored stations for reduced static.

Channel Skip – Ignores strong stations and focuses only on the static/noise between them.

Wordbank Mode – Randomly plays short MP3/WAV files from the microSD card.
Short tracks play fully; longer ones are sampled in ~3-second segments.

Bluetooth Mode – Streams audio directly from a connected mobile device.

Using the HexBox

Choose your preferred mode — radio sweep, word file playback, or Bluetooth — then adjust sweep timing, reverb, and volume to match your session. Set the device in position, ask clear questions, and listen for meaningful responses that stand out from the audio bed. Its interface is designed to keep things simple so you can focus on investigating rather than menu navigation.

How It Works

A microSD card with hundreds of preloaded spoken words is included so you can use Wordbank mode right away. You can customize the experience by loading your own MP3 or WAV files into the root directory or folders. This makes it easy to build thematic, multilingual, or personalized word sets for different types of investigations.
