This ice cream scoop
dates back to the late 1800 or early 1900s.
It is made of
galvanized steel.
This scoop is cone
shaped or could be considered pyramid shaped.
The handle are just
like scissor handles.
Open the scissor handle
and the two parts of the scoop separate and release the ice cream.
The scissors are in
working condition although they are a bit stiff.
The piece measures 9
inches in length. The scoop measures 2-1/2 inches x 2-1/8 inches..
No markings but if I
were to guess, I would say it was probably about a size 15. That would mean it
scoops about 15 scoops to the quart.
This piece is in
age-related condition with some oxidation and patina. There is some surface
loss. There is old writing that has been removed but you can see faint marks on
the outside of the scoop on one side. See photos.
