A charivari is a traditional piece of Bavarian costume jewelry. It is worn by men on the bib of their traditional leather pants. The charivari was used as jewelry or as a talisman for a successful hunt and is a valuable status symbol for the wearer. This example is quite heavy and robust and features thirteen rare pieces of jewelry: two fox teeth with silver crowns, a rock crystal, a silver pretzel, a small silver beer mug, a silver Edelweiss, a silver charm of two acorns and a leaf, a silver coin with the 'König Ludwig II' design, two stunted horns (Kümmerer"), a wild boar tooth, a deer hoof and a piece of hare fur.
