The UPA78 antenna is a high-quality upgrade for the Unication G-Series P25 digital pager/scanner used in the 700/800 bands, specifically the G4 and G5 models when operating at a distance from a tower site. With a fine-tuned frequency range of 763-870 MHz and an antenna gain of up to +3dB, this black antenna offers much improved performance over the Unication OEM GSANSXXXXXXX01 and GSXXANAS03EX antennas. Our antenna uses the proper SMA connector for a perfect fit, it will NOT cause any damage to the pager, and it will NOT void the Unication warranty.

Our antenna is not a counterfeit, clone, knock-off, or untuned antenna from China relabeled with the typical China red color SMA base insulator.
Does tuning of an antenna make any difference? A BIG YES How much of a difference? NIGHT and DAY
Each antenna is fine-tuned by hand with accuracy using precision lab grade equipment for a perfect high-performance and balanced P25 Digital reception across the full 700 and 800 MHz public safety radio bands. This is extremely important for the P25 digital base station tower signals that occur in both the 763-776 MHz (700 band) and 851-870 MHz (800 band) frequency ranges. The tuning of the antenna achieves proper resonance across the full 763-870 MHz frequency range with a very low SWR of 1.5:1 or less to achieve a signal gain of up to +3.0 dB that could effectively double your receive signal power as compared to any of the OEM or other untuned antennas.
Our custom tuning also allows the antenna to reject unwanted RF signals that occur outside of the tuned frequency range which helps the Unication receiver from being desensitized by cell towers and UHF TV broadcast transmitters. The 3” and 6” whip antennas sold by others will not reject any of unwanted signals and cause the Unication pager receiver to become deaf from signal overloading. The other antennas are all mass produced, are not properly tuned, and have been found to not cover the full 763-870 MHz frequency range.
Our testing has found that the new Unication OEM antenna with a blue band still comes up way short on performance as shown with our VSWR graph comparison but operates somewhat tolerable when used very close to a tower site. Our SMA female antenna connector is the exact type, fit, and length for the Unication antenna jack. The UPA78 antenna has been found to outperform the Unication OEM antennas, other untuned aftermarket antennas, and all of the untuned Moto 2-way radio antennas. Please see the attached graph of our SWR test results that compares the Unication OEM antenna with our UPA78 antenna. Of course, optimum results are based upon using a proper functioning, correctly programmed, and aligned Unication G-Series pager with a fully charged healthy battery.
The UPA78 antenna is 100% compatible with the Unication Pager/Scanner models G4 and G5. The Unication pagers shown in the photos are not included and shown for reference only.
The Unication company and dealers should become fully aware of the Federal Magnuson-Moss Act passed by Congress in 1975 as it relates to their Unication pager equipment warranty and use of aftermarket antennas. According to the Magnuson-Moss Act, a radio manufacturer cannot automatically cancel your warranty just because you’ve installed an aftermarket antenna. This is an ILLEGAL practice. The Federal Trade Commission has since been reminding consumers of their rights to install aftermarket antennas without fear of having their warranties voided. Our UPA78 series of antennas use an industry standard SMA female connector which will not cause damage to any Unication pager and also perform superior to any OEM or other untuned antenna.
That said, if your aftermarket antenna does somehow cause or contributes to a failure in your Unication pager, Unication may be able to deny your warranty claim, as long as they can prove the connection. We DO NOT RECOMMEND using any Motorola or Chinese Tofu-Dreg 2-way radio antenna that use a non-standard Motorola SMA connector on any Unication pager. Do not use antennas with a non-standard SMA connector that has a flush end insulator which will eventually push the center of the Unication antenna jack down and out the bottom of the jack. Once the antenna jack has been damaged, use of any antenna with a standard SMA will never work properly until the pager has been fully repaired.
The UPA78 antenna is not made to operate in the Vhf 140-174 MHz, UHF 380-512 MHz, or 896-940 MHz radio bands even though it may fit fine. Matching the antenna frequency tuning to the programmed operating frequencies in your portable radio, pager, or scanner is extremely important.
IMPORTANT ANTENNA THEORY INFORMATION
It is a fact that the most important part of any radio communications is the antenna system. The antenna is the device on a radio that converts RF power into radio waves during transmit and also radio waves back into RF signal power on receive. All transmitted and received signals must pass through the antenna system for any radio communications to work. One half of the portable radio antenna system is the external antenna that you attach to the radio antenna connector and the other half is the actual portable radio metal chassis itself.
A respected radio engineer once said, “If you had 100 dollars, invest 99 dollars in the antenna system and 1 dollar in the radio and you will always have great communications”. After many years of our own experience, we have found that this statement to be true especially for today’s FM narrowband, trunked, and digital radio communications. Of course it would be best to have your radio properly recalibrated, realigned, and tested at least once every 2 years for maximum radio reliability and performance.
We have witnessed radios worth thousands of dollars using cheap unknown inferior quality OEM antennas get beat out by users with portable radios one forth the cost using our high performance fine-tuned antennas. Just imagine how an expensive portable radio will work with our high-performance antenna.
VSWR is the efficiency measurement ratio of RF power that is being
converted into radio waves by the antenna system as compared to the RF power
that is not converted and reflected back into the radio as wasted energy. A
VSWR of 1.5:1 has been and still is the customary maximum upper limit used in
professional land mobile radio communications to determine a good transfer of
RF power. Any VSWR above 1.6:1 is poor and any VSWR above 2:1 is definitely bad
for performance and the health of the radio RF power output amplifier. Sadly, many companies that manufacture
products in China now use a VSWR of 2:1 as their new good reference point (aka
product enshitification) to market their poor-quality products and make them
appear to be way better than what they actually are.

US Postal Service Rules for all late and missing deliveries that must be followed when problems occur: Step 1. If your package has not been delivered by the Estimated Expected Delivery Date, we have to wait until after this date to be able to submit a Help Request for USPS to look into the late delivery. Step 2. If the shipment still has not been delivered within 7 business days after we submitted the Help Request, we can then submit a Missing Mail Search request for USPS to try to locate your late or missing package. Step 3. If your USPS package has not arrived within 30 days, we can then submit for a Full Refund Request with the USPS for the lost shipment. Step 4. After we receive a confirmation of the Full Refund Request from USPS, we will then send you a full refund or ship you a replacement order at no additional cost.
RETURN POLICY: All returns requested within 30 days after receiving the item, will require an RMA number issued by the seller. Returned items must include all of the accessories, must be in all of our original packaging, and in the same condition as when it was sold. If you are returning your item because of a rare mistake that we made, we will refund your reasonable return shipping costs to us. Any returned items that have the warranty seals opened, or is in an unsellable condition, will not be accepted for a refund or replacement. Also, any malfunctions or damage caused by failing to follow directions will not be covered. Warranty is for the original purchaser only and cannot be reassigned. The warranty date starts on the item sale date and any repaired or replacement items issued under warranty will be covered only for the original warranty period. The returned item will be inspected and retested for all specifications. If the item is found to be defective in materials and/or workmanship, we will repair or replace the item at our discretion and the item will be returned to you at no cost.
