Golden Bullet and its striking variant, Red Golden Bullet, are rare and fiery cultivars of Capsicum chinense, prized for their compact bullet-shaped fruits and ornamental foliage. These plants are vigorous growers, typically reaching over 1 metre in height with a bushy, upright habit. Stems are dark, and leaves are deep green to purplish, lending a dramatic contrast to the vivid fruit.

Flowers are small, white, and bloom in midsummer. They are self-pollinating and attract beneficial pollinators. Fruit begins green with dark undertones, ripening to a warm golden yellow or deep red, depending on the variant. Pods are about 2.5 cm long and 2 cm wide, with a glossy skin and a sweet, slightly floral chinense aroma. Despite their small size, they pack a potent heat and are ideal for hot sauces, powders, or culinary daring.

Native to the Caribbean and Central America, these peppers thrive in warm, sunny conditions. They are known for high productivity and ornamental appeal, making them suitable for both edible landscapes and container growing.

Days to harvest: approximately 90–100 from transplant.

To grow from seed:
Start seeds indoors 8–10 weeks before last frost. Use a heat mat to maintain soil temperature around 27–30°C. Germination may take 10–21 days. Transplant seedlings after danger of frost has passed, spacing 45–60 cm apart in well-drained, fertile soil. Harden off gradually before planting outdoors.

Garden care:
Provide full sun and consistent moisture without waterlogging. Mulch to retain soil warmth and suppress weeds. Feed with a balanced fertilizer every 2–3 weeks during flowering and fruiting. Stake if needed to support heavy yields. In cooler climates, grow in pots for easier overwintering indoors.
