This is a US army mattock with a wooden handle and carrier case. Please note, the carrier case is marked W Breneman 1951 but the other item doesn't have any markings. This is not unusal with some military items. There are signs of wear and tear as would be expected through age and use. These are primarily some scrapes to the mattock and handle and wear to the carrier case. These along with the size and general condition of the item can be seen in the photographs.
