Lovely large format original press photograph showing newlyweds staying at the Merton Hotel, St Helier setting off for a tour of the Island. They were among the 2000 Easter honeymooners who made the annual trip to Jersey in April to take advantage of the UK post war tax provision for married couples.

Nicknamed the 'Honeymoon Hotel', the Merton provided guests with special honeymoon entertainment and many returned year after year to remember those magical times.
