German 120mm mortar with crew and ammunition box

Having convinced themselves of the high efficiency of the Soviet 120 mm mortars, the Germans developed their own 120 mm mortar based on documentation captured at one of the defense plants in Kharkov. 

The mortar was adopted by the Wehrmacht in 1943 under the designation "sGrW42" - heavy mortar model 1942. 

The mortar was successfully used until the last days of the war.
