For sale here is an original vintage roll down school chart of 

Produced by Hagemann in Dusseldorf, Germany in 1973.

 

This beautifully illustrated chart shows and compares the external anatomy of the European hedgehog.

Width (including poles):86cm

Length: 120cm

(without poles 82cm x 115cm)

Printed on paper, it is backed with canvas and has black wooden half dowels top and bottom.

This chart has spent most of its life rolled up in a school cupboard so the colours are still bright.

Obviously these charts are not new so please check all photos before purchase. 

The overall condition is good, there is some light edge wear and it is on half dowels as opposed to the more common full rounds.

These old charts were produced as educational tools for schools and colleges by teacher Heinrich Jung, artist and biologist Gottlieb von Koch and college director, Doctor Friedrich Quentell. 

The dark background acted as a chalk board which allowed teachers to annotate them during the lesson. 

First published by Frommann and Morian in the early 1900's Hagemann became involved in the production around 1948 first in conjunction with Frommann and Morian then on their own from around 1963.

You can find modern reprints of these charts from many online sellers but they lack the atmosphere and history of the vintage ones.
