Japanese Imari style decorated Jug, with a handle in the form of a dragon with splayed back legs.
15 cm Tall 9 cm across the base
The jug is decorated with the traditional Japanese cobalt blue, ochre red, green on a creamy white background.
The green is kept for the scales of the hydra or dragon that makes the handle.
I strongly believe this is a very early Mason’s Jug, C1820 probably from the transition of impressed to ink marks.
condition: there are hairline marks on the feet , possibly from use. some rubbing , 2 chips to the rim
Please see pictures, not bad for over 200 years old .
I mainly use Ebay Global shipping but please ask for a quote if you do not wish to use this.
I am always happy for you to pick up or view before buying.
If you are buying from oversea I cannot guarantee in post against breakage but I will pack very well. Also if buying from oversea you must pay all import duty and taxes yourself and check the item is allowed to be sent.
All of my items are used/vintage so will have slight signs of wear so please see pictures. I will always point out any damage but if i do miss some it will only be by mistake.
I use mainly Hermes for delivery but if you want something else please let me know but it will most likely cost you more I am afraid. I do not make and money on postage as i need to buy bubble wrap etc and pay charges.
