This lever load cell is beautifully designed for the detection and measurement of tension and compression forces in gear shift applications. Unlike traditional 12V-powered sensors that suffer from noisy and unstable signal, this unit is engineered for clean low-voltage operation. It can be supplied with 5V, 6.3V, or 8V , delivering a much cleaner signal with improved resolution and a precise linear 0.5 to 4.5-7.4V output proportional to the applied force. The signal is compatible with most common ECUs. Simple installation requires only a 3-wire connection. Configurations are available for both Sequential and ‘H’ Pattern gearboxes. Typical applications include Flat Shift, Quickshifter, Torque Cut, Ignition Cut, and Clutch-free Gearshift on race vehicles.

The load cell is generally installed on top of the gear change lever, where it accurately detects the level of force applied by the driver. It connects straight to your standalone ECU — no external controller needed.
