This auction is for a Feb. 17th, 1864 One Hundred Dollars banknote from The Confederate States of America. This note is very fragile, and the scans were made with the note still in the holder I purchased the note in (holder is yellowed). This note is obviously heavily circulated, damaged, and has the following: very heavy folding and wear (also has many heavier creases and areas of wrinkled folding - many areas of damage exist); overall staining and darker areas of spot/line/section stains (also has smudges, dark and dirty areas, grease stains, areas of discoloration); very heavy edge and corner wear (including corners rounded and/or split/frayed/missing - edges rough/damaged/missing/tattered in many areas); many edge indents/nicks (multiple tears exist and many are very large and damaging - note does appear intact but looks nearly torn into several sections); very heavy surface wear and fraying (many areas of paper loss and surface damage exist); many holes/inner tears and many are very large and damaging, many pieces missing due to heavy wear and damage. Please see the photos to judge the condition of the note.
