Hardinge 4-degree taper backplate blank.

These are rough machined & will finish to 6-1/2" OD and currently range from 6.510" to 6.540". My previous batches were only 6", so due to popular demand, here are the larger ones.   The taper bore is finished with the locking pin installed.  These are just over 2" long.  You mount on your spindle and machine to fit the chuck of your choice. All exterior surfaces are rough machined oversize.  These are manufactured from G2 cast iron due to its great vibration damping properties.

These are intended for adjust-true type chucks, hence the extra length for the pilot.  There is also enough material to mill steps on the back to facilitate mounting onto your mill vise.  Your spindle taper major diameter needs to be between 2.304" & 2.310".

(Some spindles have been re-machined & cause problems). Message me with the major diameter of your spindle taper before purchasing.

The ledge on the front is necessary for my machining process and is already larger than any adjust-true pilots I've seen (5.770")
