Michio Furutani (1946–2000) born in Shigaraki and educated at Kyoto’s Institute of Industrial Arts, he reintroduced the long-forgotten anagama (wood-fired tunnel kiln) to his region - the first since medieval times - and built over 30 of them between 1970 and his death.

I am selling a Iga water dropper. Unglazed pottery with thick layer of natural wood ash glaze from the wood firing. Suiteki (Water dropper) is used in Japanese calligraphy and is made to release a single drop of water onto the ink stone while grinding ink.

There is no damage; the object is in excellent condition. Comes in an original signed wooden box with artist brochure (latest year 1996). The object is also signed with the artist signature mark.
