Offered for bid is an authentic “Donkey Bay”. This Original handwoven vintage condition saddle bag is a genuine Turkish or Kurdish tribal handmade ethnic design hand knotted natural woolen saddlebag. The material used in making this rug is 100% natural sheep wool and sometimes mixed with silk. Backing is canvas. This is an original saddle bag made by craftsmen and craftswomen who have been making rugs and saddle bags centuries.

This Donkey Bag was purchased at a remote Turkish village, about 1988.  This colorful bag is made from wool and canvas-like material.  The item consists of two large bags, each one 16” wide by 18” deep, with open tops.  The bags are connected by two straps, which are actually the backs of the bags. Overall length of the bag is approximately 52”.  The bags are decorated with geometric designs.

These donkey bags are hand-made, from wool and canvas and other woven material. The colorful bags are a whole range of colors: red, orange, purple, green, pink and tan/brown.

There are three rows of decorative fringes, in dark red and green.  

This donkey bag was carefully stored since it was purchased.  It shows signs of use on the back of the bag. It is sold “as-is”.

This is a great decoration for your living room or den, or put it on your donkey!
