This exceptional Chinese export fan is a rate 19th Century piece. The fan leaf belongs to the "1000 Face" category so named for intricate scene filled with the numerous figures each having a hand painted bone face. The guards are carved and pierced and the fan has an attached silk tassel. It is beautifully framed but the backside is as intricate as the exposed side.
