I'm selling a Set 4 Vtg Mid Century Modern Hand Painted Nesting Dipping Bowls made of Lacquered Wood that are Burgundy and Hand Painted with Numbers 1-4. Strangely enough, they don't seem to nest in chronological order, as "II" rests better into "I," rather than the other way around.

The biggest bowl, numbered "IIII," measures about 3 3/8" in diameter x about 1 1/4" high. The smallest bowl measures about 2 1/4" tin diameter x 3/4" tall. Please see condition description for more detail. Item comes as described/as pictured.

If you know the origin of these - if they are Japanese, for example - I would appreciate any additional information about them.
