THE ITEM
This Cristal D'Arques/J G Durand French Paloma satin glass 'Doves of Peace' bowl is a beautiful and elegant piece made of fine crystal glass. As you can see from the pictures, which were taken whilst displayed in our home, the Doves 'come alive' when caught by the light.
The round bowl in the Paloma satin range, features a stunning Lalique-style design of three frosted glass Doves in relief. It is sufficiently decorative to be displayed as a piece of art Glass or put to practical use as a fruit or dessert bowl.
With vintage appeal and intricate moulding it was made in France in the late 20th Century, and showcases the glass artistry and craftsmanship of renowned brand Cristal D'Arques/J G Durand.
CONDITION
Although it could display as a fine example of art glassware, it's also a robust practical piece and remains in good condition without significant chips or cracks. All we can find as evidence of its age and use is the tiniest of nicks on rim which is too small for our camera to capture.

Whenever possible our asking prices are based on either our knowledge of the genre or on what similar pieces have been sold for on the international market, rather than what some sellers are asking. They are usually two very different things!
You will normally find that our prices sit somewhere in the middle between auction and professional dealer prices and we are always willing to consider realistic offers.

We have a 100pc success rate for over a decade of successfully shipping fragile glassware and ceramics across the UK and the wider World.
We only charge what the Post Office and couriers charge us and subsidise the cost of packing materials.
International shipping? Since Covid, we have started to use eBay's Global Shipping Programme because it has proved to be competitive and reliable for items with a packaged weight over 2kg. For smaller items we use the Royal Mail's tracked Airmail service.
