A RARE WW2 Allied map of GERMANY entitled "WILHELMSHAVEN" that features a "SECRET DEFENCE OVERPRINT" layer added in blue.

The purpose of such a map is to identify the known and suspected locations of enemy defensive positions and the various weapons deployed within them.

WILHELSHAVEN was a major shipbuilding port that served as the German Navy's main operational base.

Produced with Aerial Reconnaissance corrections to 10th April 1945, around four weeks before the port fell into Allied hands.

Has a detailed scale of 1:25,000, and the back of the map is taken up with a large "DEFENCE LEGEND" explaining the various symbols used.

This sheet was actually retained in the British military archives, before being officially disposed of over two decades ago with the closure of one of its map depositories. As such, it has always been stored correctly and has never been folded, so it's more or less in mint condition. It will therefore be shipped rolled in a tube.

Please see my other WW2 (and WW1) maps, photos, documents etc, including other material recently acquired from this same source.
