Great shape, very clean with most of the white and black paint intact.
Works very well, if set for just about exactly 5 minutes it dings about ten seconds early but that is possibly partly user error/play. When set for just about exactly 55 minutes it dings about 5 seconds early. I’d call that a very good average and a decent short term time keeper and again could be attributable to user error and play. Definitely within tolerance for most applications.
It dings, rather than rings. Just one quick hammer to the exterior bell rather than the multiple fast hammer swings you might be used to for some newer timers.
Has some fairly minor dings/dents/blemishes, mostly on the bottom/back, mainly some light paint wear and staining. The very top just above the “0” is about the worst area on the front/top (dent plus some paint chips) and it’s not too distracting.
Please review all photos.
I don’t know the exact age, have seen similar variably called 1940s and 1950s. The dial on this one is very Art Deco-inspired but I do NOT think it is necessarily Bakelite. I have seen others call it such but I don’t see that. Glossy black with a chrome colored vertical stripe.
Some models have a broader/rounder dial, this one is more pointed and angular. If that helps a person date it or ascertain the exact model.
The back of the bell reads:
ROBERTSHAW-FULTON CONTROLS COMPANY
LUX TIME DIVISION
LEBANON, TENN., U.S.A.
