1850s French leather, brass and paper Carnet de Bal notebook & coin purse, with pencil.

Measures about 3-1/4" x 2-1/2" x 1/2".

The clasp has 2 ends and both sides of the case open-up. The clasp is marked "Paris".

There is an inscription on the first page of the notebook which is dated 1855 with provenance.

The condition is good with some expected signs of age, mostly on the leather cover near the clasp where there is a small rip. The red fabric inside is soiled and worn from age and use, but it's in remarkable shape if you consider the age and materials. The paper is still intact, unused except for the first page and the last page.
