Following is the translation of the description from the University of Puerto Rico’s Museum of History, Anthropology, and Art website

Poster that announces the 2nd Festival de Teatro Puertorriqueño, sponsored by the celebrated in the Instituto de Cultura Puertorriqueña, in the Teatro Tapia.  The primary image is the silhouette of a vejigante with his arms extended, holding a stage curtain.  The silhouette seems to be waiting for us, inviting us to enter, and become part of the marvelous world of theater.  Homar placed the text in red, green, and black ink on the front of the silhouette.

The Instituto de Cultura Puertorriqueña created the Programa de Fomento y Divulgación de las Artes Teatrales in 1956. It provided support to theater and dance through this program. The playwright, Francisco Arriví, was the director of the program from 1956 until 1980, during which time he placed special interest in the development of national theater.  The first Festival de Teatro Puertorriqueño was organized in 1958 with the purpose of creating a space for the presentation of works by Puerto Rican playwrights.

For each of the Festivals, which have been celebrated annually since, a seasonal poster was printed to promote the festival and others were made for each individual theatrical pieces presented during the season.

Nearly all the painters of this generation contributed to the creation of the posters for these festivals.  During his years in the Taller del Instituto, Homar designed 11 seasonal posters – from 1958 to 1967 and the 1969 festival- and one individual poster for theater and 5 individual posters for Ballets de San Juan.

Poster in Very Good Condition:  "A poster in very good condition may have blemishes in the border and up to approximately one inch of the poster's artwork. There may be small tears in the artwork along the fold lines only. It may also have minor fading. In general, a poster in very good condition may show some wear and often will project a subtle classic vintage vibe without detracting from the artwork. "

It will be wrapped in acid-free paper and sent in a poster tube.  Sorry, no returns on posters given how easy it is to damage them if mishandled.
