This is a picture pedigree of the amazing Smarty Jones. He joins the short list of horses who almost won the coveted Triple Crown . He lost the Belmont Stakes, the last race of the three, by a very narrow margin. He had an accident as a two year old that almost cost him his life. He reared while being introduced to the starting stalls and fractured his skull. Smarty Jones made a remarkable recovery and after a very succesfull racing career he was retired to the famed Three Chimneys Farm, and his offspring are now racing and becoming winners. "Smarty" was shipped to Uruguay for the 2011 season and will return to the USA. He is standing at Calumet Farm Kentucky as of 2017.
