Item Description
This is a one-of-a-kind Japanese textile runner, meticulously handmade by my 92-year-old grandmother using vintage kimono and workwear fabrics.
It features a vibrant and harmonious mix of striped cottons and ikat-style kasuri pieces, each stitched together to preserve the warmth and character of old Japan. The reverse side showcases bold ikat motifs with a rare abstract flame-like pattern, creating a powerful contrast.
Each fabric tells a silent story of the Taisho to early Showa periods (1920s–1950s), when they were once worn or used in daily life. Now reborn through skilled hands, this piece makes a beautiful table runner, art display, or collector's item.
