During his 16-year Hall of Fame career, Ryne Sandberg, the pride of Spokane, WA, won the NL MVP 9 consecutive Gold Gloves (an MLB record for 2nd basemen!), 7 Silver Sluggers, Major League Player of the Year, the HR Derby & was named to 10 All-Star teams!


In 1984, the Chicago Cubs won 96 games and Ryne Sandberg hit .314, cracked 200 hits & won the Triples Title (19), the WAR Title (8.5), the Runs Scored Title (114) & the NL MVP award!


On Wednesday night, September 2, 1981, in front of only 6,232 at Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium, Chicago Cubs Hall of Famer Ryne Sandberg made his MLB debut pinch running for the Phillies.

Sandberg then went from 1st to 3rd on a Larry Bowa single to RFOne batter later, Sandberg scored on a Pete Rose single to CF.
