Art Baltazar, born 1968 in Chicago, is a celebrated American comic artist and writer known for his whimsical, all-ages style. Starting with his self-published Cray-Baby Adventures in 1994, he created quirky comics like Gyro-Man, Captain Camel & the Space Chicken, Lunar Lizard, Meteor Mite, and Patrick the Wolf Boy. His work with Warner Bros. included the Gorilla Gorilla! strip in Disney Adventures Magazine, and he co-wrote Tiny Titans with Franco Aureliani, earning Eisner Awards in 2009 and 2011. Baltazar also contributed to Billy Batson and the Magic of Shazam!, Young Justice, and Superman Family Adventures. Co-founding AW Yeah Comics in Skokie, Illinois, with Aureliani in 2012, he launched the AW Yeah Comics series featuring Action Cat and Adventure Bug. Living with his wife Rose, sons Sonny and Gordon, daughter Audrey, and dog Jingle Fett, Baltazar’s playful art continues to delight, earning him a 2011 Harvey Award and more.

Patrick the Wolf Boy, created by Art Baltazar and Franco Aureliani, is a humorous comic strip blending kid-friendly chaos with a werewolf twist. Patrick, a wolf boy with fur and fangs, lives with loving human parents who embrace his wild nature. Communicating mostly through growls ("Rowr!"), he chases squirrels, misunderstands everyday situations—like mistaking hair for cotton candy—and gifts his teacher with odd items like skulls or moose. The black-and-white, '60s-style strips feature themed specials (Christmas, Valentine’s Day) and showcase Patrick’s antics, from scaring Santas to school mishaps. Aimed at grades 2-8, the series mixes Charles Addams-like dark humor with Calvin & Hobbes energy, collected in digest-sized volumes by Devil’s Due Publishing, offering a howling good time.
