PCGS authenticated and graded VG 8. Medium steel brown with slightly darker olive and steel in the fields and protected areas. Glossy on the devices but covered with microscopic roughness in the fields and protected areas. No verdigris or notable contact marks, but there are a few minor planchet flakes and fissures: one at the end of the plow beam, another just left of the U in UNUM, and a shallow flake right of the M. The date is clear as are the legends, but there is weakness at ERA due to minor swelling in that area. Called the "Leaning Head" obverse because the head tilts markedly back as if it is rearing up. A nice example of this rare variety, and it comes with an important provenance. Weight 127.4 grains. The attribution and Sydney F. Martin Collection provenance are noted on the special PCGS label.
